A Sunny Day in Shiner

We drove all the way to Shiner, Texas to visit the Spoetzl Brewery, home of Shiner beer, but that’s not why we hung out there for hours. 

The Piano Road Bridge

  The Piano Road Bridge links the old Czech communities of High Hill and Dubina in Fayette County, Texas.  The bridge designer intended it for carriages and horses and foot traffic.  The iron trusses came all the way from Cleveland — the one in Ohio. 

A Painted Church in Praha, Texas

The Painted Churches of Fayette County are just a couple of hours west of Houston.  We’ve heard about them for years.  We had heard they were amazing, but we’ve never detoured off I-10 to find one and peak inside.

Seabrook Siren Song
